Privacy: the mailing list
This page covers the email list you can join on this website, for example on the Campfire Simulator page. In short: I keep your email address so I can email you about my games, and nothing else.
Who I am
I'm Sam, a solo game developer in New Zealand, making games as JunkDrawerDev. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What's collected
- Your email address, which you type in.
- When you signed up, and the internet address (IP) you signed up from. The email service records these as proof that you asked to join.
- Whether an email was opened or a link in it clicked. The email service records this by default, so I can tell if emails are getting through.
What it's used for
To email you when Campfire Simulator comes out, and now and then with news about my other games. I don't send many emails, I never sell or give your address to anyone else, and I don't use it for anything but these emails.
Where it's kept
The list is kept by MailerLite, the email service that sends the emails for me. They're based in the European Union and look after the data under EU privacy law (GDPR).
How long
Until you unsubscribe. After that you won't get any more emails. Ask me and I'll delete your address completely.
Your choices
- Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete what I hold about you at any time, free, by emailing [email protected]. You have these rights under New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, and under the GDPR if you're in the EU or UK.
The website itself
The Campfire Simulator page has no cookies, ads or tracking scripts. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps ordinary server logs to keep the site running and safe.
